Build
Positive Working Relationships As
Fire Chief, Keith worked with the City and County and has the trust of leaders
from both. He can work out the differences and forge a positive working
relationship, to the benefit of both sides. Protect
Napa Valley's Agricultural And Open Space Traditions No
one running has a stronger record (in both words and deeds) than Keith when it
comes to protecting open space and the environment. He has worked on the Newell
Open Space Preserve,
and served on the Bay Area Ridge Trail Committee. He was one of the signers of the
Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District Initiative. Keith has spoken
out against too much development, particularly when it will negatively impact
the Agricultural Preserve or our hillsides. He
will hold builders accountable for quality
development.
Napa
County's
economic strength is based on agriculture and tourism.
It has resulted in one of the strongest tax
bases in the State. Keith wants to protect our Ag Preserve on the one hand and
bolster
tourism on the other. He
supports attracting conference facilities
in the South County to bring in more corporate clients.
Deal
with Traffic and Infrastructure Traffic
has grown worse, in large part because we haven't invested in maintaining and upgrading
our roadways. Keith supports finding the money needed to fix our roads, whether
it's grants, special legislature or just shifting our budget priorities. And
traffic is only one of several infrastructure issues that need to be dealt with
sooner, rather than later. Build
Workforce Housing Napa County needs more affordable workforce housing. This would reduce
traffic congestion and build a stronger sense of community. Keith will support
efforts to build affordable housing in designated areas in the County, as well
as work in good faith with the Cities of Napa and American Canyon to provide
additional
housing in urban areas. But he wants to avoid burdening homeowners with
countless Assessment Districts. Proven
Leadership Experience
Keith
is new to politics, but not to leadership.
As the Fire Chief of the American Canyon
Fire Protection District for almost 20 years, he was responsible for overseeing operations
as well as the District's finances and administration. He has built government
facilities, balanced a multi-million
dollar budget, and developed first class operations. During
his career, Keith has managed many major emergencies and served 10 years on a
Statewide Incident Command Team. |
